I’m having the same problems as you did RML. I renamed the widgets accordingly but cannot get past renaming the comment widget. Can you copy and past the proper html code I need to replace these widget ID’s with?

I’ve tinkered with it so many times and can’t get by renaming them.I would like to use this template for my new blog but it won’t happen until some1 clarifies this step for renaming the widget ID’s in entirety.

i’m having problem like this..

More than one widget was found with id: Feed33. Widget IDs should be unique.

i change “Recent-Comments-Widget”
–> with this one “Feed33″

it doesnt work (but it work for RML)…
please help…

Ihave a problem with search box, i tried renaming it but it doesn’t work, any solutions?

Could ever fix that problem?

Several people are having trouble uploading this template. Especially the invalid widget id problem.

Blogger is quite right the widget id for some widgets is invalid as Blogger requires all widget ids to match the type.

This template is all goofed up. I have even tried the fixes posted from a previous commenter to no avail.

Paul, I just uploaded the Daya Earth template last weekend and it looks great (thanks for the help with the feed errors!).

Problem – I just noticed that the comments only see to work when I set them to pop open in a new window, but when I switch to embed comments at the end of the post and then go to click “Post Comment” to leave a new comment, nothing happens!

What should I do?!

Btw – thanks for your help on this stuff! These templates are awesome!

It does work but Blogger have made some changes so you will have to make a few edits. Full instructions here.

Have tried you instructions & changing the values so they are different with no success wouldn’t it be easier for everyone (esp noobs) just to edit the xml?

If you are still getting the: ‘The new widget id “Recent-Posts-Widget1″ is invalid for type: Feed’ message you need to make sure that the id is changed to id=’Feed11′. The same for the Recent Comments widget as long as you use any number except 11.

Better still, as the Recent Posts and Recent Comments will not work anyway, because of Blogger’s changes to the way widgets work, just delete the widgets before uploading the template. Then use Add a Gadget to install new feed widgets when you have uploaded.

As for editing the XML, that’s up to the designers because the changes in the way Blogger works have affected just about every third party template out there. The way I look at it is that as they have worked hard on these and have given them away for nothing, I should not complain to them about something which is not their fault.

I am sure that designers all round the world are trying to make their templates fully compatible with Blogger again. But, as far as I am concerned I am grateful for the chance to use a good looking free template on a free blogging platform. So, if something does not work I will brew up a cuppa and look at the code to try and get it working. If I am successful then I will share it so others can do the same.

Embedded Comment Form Alignment

There is no styling for the embedded comment form so it butts up against the left of the column and does not look very tidy.

Add the following style to the head section of the template to align the form properly:

.comment-form{margin-left:13px}

That will move it left and align it with the comments above.

Tonight this template is not functioning on my blog. I thought it was just my blog but then I found other Daya Earth users here and there, and theirs are not working either. I’m not getting any error messages as the others have – it’s just that the template with the beautiful space scene does not appear anymore. I’ve had this template on my blog since January. It’s an astounding template!! Can someone tell me if there’s something wrong on my end?

Steps:-
Go to blogger.com
sign in with ur account

Edit HTML tab

Upload Daya earth template

now when u try to save this template u will find this error.i.e.,

Now using ctrl+F find the recent-posts in browser
when u find it.

b:widget id=’Recent-Posts-Widget’ locked=’false’ title=’Recent Posts’ type=’Feed’

Now when u find the above line just change the id=’Feed3′ and leave the rest of the line as same. Remember before u enter Feed3 or Feed4 or anynumber make sure that it is not used before. save the template.. but again it shows an error that recent-comments-widget is invalid

Do the same process as per above. Now give id as Feed4 or any number be sure that it is not used before. So this process goes on for search box, ads & feedjit.

Thank you for the compliment but it is not my template. The designer was Abdul Munir, as stated in the template footer.

As for the problem of comments not showing I think that this is a temporary recurring problem which seems to affect some blogs. I have seen several items about this on various forums and help sites for a long time.

At first I could not see the comments in Firefox or IE8 but when I tried Chrome, Safari and Opera 10 the comments showed. They are now showing in Firefox 3.5 and IE8 on my computer. Hopefully you can now see them on yours.

Another point is that both Chrome and Safari are distorting your graphics in “Linux on USB?” as they may be slightly too wide.

Thanks for checking my blog. I don’t know what happen, but the comment is shown now. maybe my blog already fixed by the blogger support just now.. hehehe.

And for the graphics, i already try to open on Chrome, and the image become larger. Maybe i’ve to check the html code first.

Not sure if my “comment” link works on this template. I’ve tried posting a comment just to test it. Can you please visit http://dumbwatch.blogspot.com/ and try to leave a comment (say anything) and see what happens. I can delete the comment later… just want to see if it works.

This is a nice template..
if you have problem with it.. just change the widget ID ["ID" must be equal with "TYPE"], then just add any number

if ID: “Recent post watever” then TYPE: FEED
then you need to change the ID to FEED#
